This is an advanced tool developed by Merijn Bellekom. It is available free in the anti-spyware community. Hijackthis.exe has numerous uses in a computer system. Some of them include loading of different programs, running of processes, browser helper, plugins as well as active X objects. The program is also used to monitor the system’s memory as well as location of keys within the registry in addition to the hard drive. According to its set up, one can manipulate it to favor specific needs and settings. For example, one can set it to ignore highlighted items. One can also create back up of original lay downs.
